Fourth Month in Poland
Fourth Month in Poland
Hi all!
Ok I'm going to TRY to keep this one short and easily digestable ;)
General month
Fourth month here and the general feeling this month... it's been ridiculously HOT.... it makes me think that there's only extremes of temperatures here - extreme cold or hot ><" Really hard to stand the heat, especially being loveeely pollen season and "flower attack" on hayfever sufferers like me. Anyway it's been nice having a few weekends actually being in Wroclaw this month instead of travelling every single weekend. Had a Polish BBQ, small bigos party, went to the Wroclaw zoo and tried my hand at showing another trainee around Wroclaw and doing that, discovered lots of great new little places in Wroclaw myself!
Travels
Gdansk
Finally saw a Polish seaside! We travelled all the way up north to Gdansk for an AIESEC reception weekend and I've been looking forward to going for a swim at the beach but ironically it was just this weekend that the weather decided to be miserable! Quite disappointing to say the least. Nevertheless, I loved Gdansk and it would be a city in Poland I wouldn't mind living in aside from Wroclaw. Just having the sea near makes the whole feeling around the city so much calmer, carefree and relaxing. Yes... I miss the beaches in NZ!
Vienna
Finally made it to visit Yat in her lovely city in Austria. Soooo great seeing Yat and seeing where she's been living in the past year. Yat showed us around the city like a true city expert and there were quite a few things that stood out for me. The grand everything - buildings, parks, even grand meals with its gigantic sized meals (see the photos) and just such a "cultured" city. I loved how environmentally friendly the city is as well, where most people bring their own carry bags to use at the supermarket, the accessible bikes you can hire, some for free, around the city and how water that comes out of any tap in Vienna is perfectly safe to drink. Next in Austria will have to be Salzburg - I want to do the Sound of Music tour haha :D
Next up...
This is the last official teaching week at the school. Next week I'll be flying to Turkey for Mustafa's wedding, after which, will then fly straight to London, meet up with Anne and we will begin our Europe travels!! :) So by next month I'll be around Europe somewhere so no promise of regular updates...
Til then, take care all!
